OUR STORY
Dagbon Media Foundation was born out of a passion for preserving the history and culture of the Dagbon Kingdom, an ancient and vibrant civilization in Northern Ghana. Founded by Abdul-Latif Umar Mohammed (Kumtili Dikpong) and Malik Abukari (Malik Alshabazz) in 2014, the organization started with the goal of documenting forgotten historical sites, collecting oral histories, and archiving cultural practices that were at risk of disappearing. Since then, we have expanded into various fields of cultural preservation, media production, and education, all while fostering connections between Dagbon and the world.
